Lotus Evora 400 vs Alfa Romeo 4C

Lotus has just released its fastest road car ever, the Evora 400, and the small British car begs to be compared to another small car, the Alfa Romeo 4C. (Due to bad weather I wasn’t able to drive the Lotus Evora 400, but I have driven the Evora S, and have spent lots of time with the Alfa 4C).

So how do they stack up?

My conclusion: Like a sporting motorcycle, the Alfa Romeo 4C is a rough ride that transmits the road surface to your body.  From experience in the Evora S, the Lotus is much more real-world, capable of comfort AND speed, with now a large injection of horsepower.

If you already have a nice sports car in the garage, buy a year old 4C and fling it around town during the week.  If you only have room for one machine, opt for the Lotus as much more developed, a lot more useable sports car.

one of the problems with Lotus ownership is finding a nearby Lotus mechanic.

Isn’t that the truth, but they are such marvelous cars. Here in L.A., there are tons of Loti, and indi shops abound. Thanks for the comments!
