The Maserati Levante is the first SUV ever to be produced by Maserati, and will make its debut at the New York International Auto Show March 23-24, 2016.
Somewhere in 2003, Maserati began floating the idea of an SUV, and a scan (in Italy) 13 years later, the 2017 Maserati Levante is finally here.
The Maserati Levante joins the existing GranTurismo, Ghibli, Quattroporte, and GranCabrio models in the Maserati line-up, and seeks to enter the niche of luxury high performance SUV’s from rivals Porsche, Ranger Rover, and soon to be released, the Bentley Bentayga.
The Maserati Levante is equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission to combine exceptional on-road performance with very high off road and towing capability.
A choice of two twin turbo V-6 engines deliver either 350HP or 430HP, the latter capable of 0-60 in around 5 seconds flat.
Expect the new Maserati Levante to be delivered to clients in the fall of 2016.
