Monaco Yacht Show 2023

MegayachtThere is very little else in the world that conveys status like a yacht. Not cars, not homes, even private jets have less impact on who’s who than a yacht. Luxurious, glamorous, some of the world’s wealthy sat out the pandemic on a yacht, touching port only for supplies, as yachts offer the well-heeled something there is little of in today’s world: privacy and security.

Now, yacht owners (minus a Russian Oligarch or two) enjoy what must be the serene pleasures of cruising some of the most beautiful seaside locations in the world. This is especially true if you are close to the greatest yachting capital in the world, Monaco. If you’ve considered reaping the benefits of your life’s hard work, shopping is made easy at the Monaco Yacht Show held in Monaco’s Hercules Harbor, this year from September 27 to 30, 2023.

Yachts in Monaco

Considered the largest annual gathering of superyachts in the world, the event is a must for private owners and new clients looking for a unique immersive experience in the world of yachting.

While there is no hard and fast rule defining yachts, most yacht brokers agree that yachts are vessels more than 40 feet in length, with super yachts starting at 80 feet and mega yachts greater than 260 feet. Both super yachts and mega yachts are always crewed by an experienced lot that know how to get owners and guests to their destinations safely and securely.

If an outright purchase isn’t in your immediate future, or if you would simply prefer to enjoy yachting without the need to buy, The Monaco Tribune has an amazing article on renting a yacht

Your own boat, at a fixed rent. This is the promise made by the young company Neoyot, which came to introduce itself in the Principality at the Monaco Yacht Club last Friday.

The company has a new subscription offer, this time for luxury yachting. “The person chooses the boat he or she is interested in as if he or she were buying one, but instead of (…) making a down payment and having to deal with all the administrative aspects, the person signs up for a straightforward subscription,” Anthony Brisacq, co-founder of Neoyot, told Monaco Info.

Neoyot is pursuing a sharing economy, like with the bicycles or scooters that we rent to get around. Shared use rather than possession. The boat in question will be used by several subscribers. The subscription is a monthly payment that includes maintenance, insurance, concierge service, a berth and a crew if the user so wishes.  Prices start at €2,900 per month.

The Monaco Yacht Show is a collaboration with the yacht industry and affiliates, focusing on innovation, design, an understanding of the yachting community, and the visitor immersive experience to the MYS. Ship tenders, toys and vehicles are also a part of the Adventure Area, with nautical gadgets and luxury vehicles as part of the four day event.

Car Deck

The luxury car and motorbike exhibition, known as the Car Deck, is where visitors can find a large number of both modern and vintage supercars and motorbikes that are available for purchase and test-drives during the Monaco Yacht Show.

The Monaco Yacht Show has announced its 2023 collaboration with watchmaker Richard Mille, the show’s new official sponsor in a multi-year partnership, and Richard Mille will have many of its watches on display and for sale.
