Bentley’s New Barchetta and Inspirational Pick Up Lines…
(Crewe, 3 March 2020) Bentley Mulliner has revealed the all-new Bacalar in England this morning. The rarest two-door Bentley of the modern era, two-seats, open-air, this GT spearheads a return to bespoke coach building by Bentley Mulliner – the oldest coach builder in the world. The car is gorgeous and steals cues from the futuristic EXP 100.
But all 12 examples of the exquisite Bentley Mulliner Bacalar have already been allocated to customers from around the world. Too bad, because women love Bentleys. So if you were considering it, you’re pretty much fucked using this car as a device to woo the ladies.
Nice part is, you don’t really have to own a Bacalar if you want to use it as a conversation starter. Read on.
Truth be told, women pretty much don’t care about cars, especially sports cars. So Ferrari, Lamborghini, even Porsche, all tell a gal you may be focused on something other than her. Bentley? Different story. Here, women see stability without the need for con brio speed, and a good bit less flamboyance on the road.
So even without actually owning the newest Bentley, stock up on a little knowledge, grab the seat next to her and casually say:
HE: did you know the new Bentley Bacalar paint contains ash from rice husks, which provides a sustainable way of delivering a rich metallic finish?
SHE: finally a man who understands the the word sustainable.
HE: and Bentley is using 5,000-year-old Riverwood sourced from the ancient Fenlands of East Anglia.
SHE: Wow, my mom lives in East Anglia!
HE: (Press his advantage): …and, the new Bentley is named after Laguna Bacalar in Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula, a lake renowned for its breath-taking natural beauty.
SHE: Hey, you want to get out of here?
Beautiful as the new Bacalar is, rather more interesting is Bentley’s new division of portfolios; Classic, Collections and Coachbuilt, the Bacalar falling into the last category, but the real fun might be in the Classics section.
Last year Bentley announced that their 1929 Team Blower is to be reborn with a new build of 12 supercharged 4½-liter examples of the iconic car. These models will form the world’s first pre-war race car continuation series. No worries about dating if you pull up in one of these.
