A sputtering economy has done nothing to dampen the enthusiasm of Patty Doud Schmitz, Mary Bradford-White, Molly Hamman and scores of others bent on bringing a world-class concours to the Chicago area. Five years since inception, The Barrington Concours is fast becoming the place to see some of the finest vehicles in the area, while rubbing elbows with car aficionados from across the US.

Here’s a tumbnail sketch of this year’s event:

1. Road Rally – Saturday, July 9 – Great 40-mile scavenger hunt through the scenic Barrington countryside. $75 per vehicle includes driver, navigator, and any backseat drivers you have, also includes continental breakfast, lunch, and prizes. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. at Wickstrom Auto Dealership. Buy tickets online at http://www.barringtonconcours.org/tickets.php

2. Concours Gala – Sunday, July 10 – View 52 of the world’s most  stunning classic vehicles. This year’s theme is “Best of Britain” and Pre-War American vehicles. We also have 10 classic motorcycles on display as well. $200 per ticket includes vehicle viewing and beautiful garden party gala on the lawn. Begins at 4:00 pm on Sunday with a cocktail reception, vehicle awards ceremony at 5:00, and dinner at 6:00.  Buy tickets online at http://www.barringtonconcours.org/tickets.php

Something you should know:

All proceeds from all events benefit Barrington Area Conservation Trust. We are always looking for additional sponsors, who receive publicity in all our materials and also tickets to various Concours events. Call 847-381-4291 for more info.

As a volunteer, sponsor, or spectator, consider putting The Barrington Concours on your summer calendar.

I sincerely hope to see you there!

Happy motoring,

Dave
