Ferrari F12 TDF
Own a LaFerrari? Coming soon to your rear view mirror is the newly uprated F12 replacement, the Ferrari F12 TDF.
For those that feel the F12 needed more power, your wish has been granted. Juiced more than a Russian track team, Ferrari’s wanton display of excess looks to be the perfect commuter car, …if your Kimi Raikkonen.
Road legal (though I’m unsure of which roads), Ferrari has managed to coax another 40 HP out of the standard F12 engine, bringing the F12 TDF ’s output to an amazing 769 HP and a redline of 8900 RPM’s.
First, don’t assume the carbon fiber is all just for show as 50 pounds has been shaved off the predecessor F12 weight.
Second, the aerodynamics have been reworked and now the downforce has been nearly doubled. And third, Ferrari has fitted a rear-wheel steering system which increases turn-in response and is suppose to reduce oversteer.
In the end, the F12 TDF laps the Ferrari Fiorano test track about a second slower than the LaFerrari. Counted out, that’s one-one thousand…
$500,000 buys you one hell of a car if you are lucky to be able to buy one of the 799 Ferrari will produce. Nearly as fast as a LaFerrari at a fraction of the price, owners will look back soon and consider the price of entry money well spent.
