Lamborghini Junior Racing Program 2016
Knowing full well that professional racing drivers don’t grow on trees, Lamborghini Squadra Corse continues bringing along talented youth. Their Junior Racing is the official program of Lamborghini’s racing department, focused on drivers they want to develop in motorsports and that are under age 26.
Starting with 8 young drivers in 2015, Lamborghini has expanded the program to 19, with the aim of developing and supporting these student drivers as they make their way to professional GT racing world wide, while assisting Lamborghini in racing car development.

And the path? 13 of the 2016 drivers come from the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, driving Huracan LP 620-2’s. These kids will now jump to the much faster Huracan GT3.
Youth programs are a source of pride for Lamborghini, as Giorgio Sanna, Head of Motorsport, is keen to stress:
“At Lamborghini Squadra Corse, we have a strong commitment to supporting young promise in the world of Gran Tursmo. The successful sales we have been experiencing with the Huracan this year has given us the opportunity to support a larger number of drivers…our youth program is working exactly the way we wanted.”
