In Beverly Hills, I’m sitting in $1.8 million worth of carbon fiber wondering how much I can talk them down. My opening bid was less than they wanted to hear, as was my final offer.  A styling exercise, this car is number 9 of about 20 built.  It’s interesting but like being at an air show and trying to figure out what you would do with an F-18 if you could take one home.

But both standing firm also got us talking about what Lamborghini you could buy that was different, limited production, and pretty cool for money I would be willing to spend.  A very knowledgeable guy who sells these things for a living, he mentioned the 2007 Lamborghini Nera.  Unique because of a very nifty paint scheme with a beautiful interior and rare because of a low production numbers ( 183), it’s not:

  • carbon fiber
  • 12 cylinders
  • $1.8 million

People have bought the Reventon and will continue to buy them, but I was allowed to glean a few tantalizing tidbits about the forthcoming Aventador, and it looks like it’s going to be awesome.  A hint about this, a quote about that, stuff you can’t get off the internet.

I am angling for a ride this summer in Los Angeles.

Happy motoring
