The Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY series is the world’s first international championship for production-based electric cars…
The season is already underway as the race calendar indicates. A support race for FIA Formula E, the series broke grounder several reasons. Alice Powell, Katherine Legge and Celia Martin became the first women not only to ever race in Saudi Arabia, it also marked the first time women and men have competed together in the country.
France’s Celia Martin joined the championship series late last year. The announcement about Celia was made via the French driver’s Instagram page and she is driving for the Viessmann Jaguar I-PACE eTrophy Team Germany outfit.
Martin has been an official test driver for Jaguar Land Rover since March, 2018, and has also competed in last year’s VLN Nürburgring Series.
Jaguar’s I-PACE eTROPHY series kicked off in December, 2018, and the eTrophy season coincides with Formula E’s.
In case you’re wondering, Martin finished 11th out of 12 cars in Saudi, but Martin and her female co-drivers are making an indelible mark, not just on the race track, but in the world.
Hats off to the ladies!
