New 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed does 208 MPH underwater
Though technically true, even if a bit misleading, the Continental GT Speed did do 208 miles per hour under water, in the Ryfylke Tunnel in Norway.
As I’m sure you know, the Ryfylke Tunnel is the nearly 9 miles long and is the longest subsea tunnel in the world. Common knowledge to Norwegian aficionados. The real fun fact is that Norway let Bentley have a serious go with the tunnel closed to traffic.
13 months in the planning, the short Bentley vignette involves a group of beautiful people meeting somewhere near the sea. One group takes a speed boat, while a single gentleman navigates both under and overland to the same designation. The Bentley conveniently arrives first, proving nothing except that great marketing nearly always involves beautiful people and expensive things.
It is great fun to watch as the 2025 Bentley GT launches through this marvelous tunnel and I’m certain those who’ve made a living as the “human cannonball” can relate.
