A one-off, custom-designed Modena gem, the prototype A6G/54 (54 indicating the year Maserati introduced this model) is the only spyder built by Zagato. It was originally fitted with the first A6G/54 dual overhead cam engine and exhibited at the 1955 Geneva and 1956 Paris Salons. Originally ordered by Argentine president Juan Perón, it won the special Maserati class and the Jules Heumann Special Award for the Most Elegant Open Car at the 2024 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Restored to Pebble Beach-awarded condition in 2024 by Fast Cars Ltd in Redondo Beach, California, it retains matching-numbers engine, transmission, and axles. It won Best of Show at the 2005 Concorso Italiano and class at the 2004 Quail Motorsports Gathering, and completed the 2022 Colorado Grand 1000. Documented with factory records, build sheets, tool roll, restoration binder, owner’s manual, and history report by Adolfo Orsi, it’s ideal for driving tours or display at top-tier concourse events.
