The 007 Cocktail Kit

Every true James Bond fan knows (or should) that Bond ordered his first martini in the book “Casino Royale”, in 1953.  His order was special, precise, Bond’s cohort in misadventure. Now shortened to just “Vesper”, bartenders I know (in passing), try not to roll their eyes when ordered, because “it has to be precise or it tastes very wrong” as one told me. I decided against ordering it just to keep things pleasant. In that same novel, 007 first told the barman his drink should be “shaken, not stirred”.

Celebrating Connolly’s collaboration with 007 and No Time To Die, the collection includes a series of timeless leather pieces created in the same Connolly Vaumol leather that has graced the interior of James Bond’s iconic Aston Martin DB5 since Goldfinger in 1964.

If you are interested in shaking your own, at home, or behind enemy lines, Connolly Leather has you covered.  I’ve included the recipe to save you the google search.

  • 3 ounces gin
  • 1 ounce vodka
  • 1/2 ounce Lillet blanc aperitif
  • Garnish: lemon twist

Add the gin, vodka and Lillet blanc into a mixing glass with ice and stir until well-chilled.Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.Express the oils from a lemon twist over the drink, rub the twist along the rim of the glass and drop it into the cocktail. Cheers!
